Effective a month ago, I made an insistent, unambiguous request to an Official with rightful authority over the matter that your office briefly helped me with back in mid-2021. What blessed me with the sense of (inner) security from my God-given Right and Freedom under the Canadian Charter not to jeopardize my financial stability and personal livelihood, Naseem, was the treasured document you provided me about Heritage and Insurance. That provincial law was clearly drawn to stipulate ALL Ontarians, as independent individuals (putting aside the Municipalities' mere administration of it), have a personal responsibility to protect OUR heritage within our own ability. I have been doing that very thing for the past 21+ years in an age-old building located just 4 doors down from where I grew up in my mother's ancestral village. I did so on my own, out of my own personal and professional interest and passion for all things HIStory, and successfully brought back to life per se the old village bank, all within my own private financial means (14 of which were in hardship!). Little did these peeps recognize me or extended any credit in their quest. The Municipal Public Servants were not having any of it, as if they had any right to enforce its application when the Municipality is limited to only enforcing the by-law in the event of a designation, turning the threat of demolition on me, not the heritage property they were eager to add as a listing to their Heritage Register!
